Introduction

The Hertz Corporation is one of the largest worldwide airport general use vehicle rental companies. It operates the Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty car rental brands in approximately 9,700 corporate and franchisee locations throughout North America, Europe, The Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Challenge

Hertz needed social media management help with high-quality content for their Instagram feed. They wanted to source images that showcased that a car isn’t just to get you from A to B, but can be the vehicle to get you to that hidden cafe, the most beautiful mountaintop view, the historic castle or the best taco truck in Texas. With such a broad spectrum of concepts Hertz turned to the community of Snapwire to source authentic one of a kind imagery that expressed their ideas.

Solution

Working with Hertz's needs, Snapwire helped Hertz launched photo challenges with broad themes such as "Travel Ideas & Inspiration," "Reasons to Travel" and "Hidden Gems" to garner a wide array of content from our community of photographers. Each Hertz request typically saw over 1,000 submissions minimum with some reaching over 10K. With so many submissions from our photographer community, Hertz had a large selection of photos to choose from for their Instagram feed. The high-quality photos they purchased embodied wanderlust and the ideals of the company. The images triggered positive emotion and response in their audience to go on road trips. In addition, the content they sourced from Snapwire helped increase engagement on their Instagram as they began to produce a more consistent visual aesthetic.
