Akrotiri is one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean on the volcanic Greek island of Santorini. It was destroyed in the Theran volcano eruption about 1627 BC and buried in volcanic ash. many of it's artefact have been displayed in Santorini Archaeological Museum and many other various museums in Greece
