David Carrillo

Creative Statement

David Carrillo started training in martial arts at the young age of seven. He began in the traditional martial arts style Tang Soo Do under teacher Marcel Beaulieu where he achieved the rank of Green Belt. After graduating from Watertown High School in 2003, David wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement. In order to get in shape, David decided to get back into martial arts. Being completely dissatisfied with traditional martial arts styles, David wanted a more realistic approach to self defense and fitness. With some research, he found Krav Maga. He started training with Jamie Arute in January 2011. Within a years time, David lost over 50 pounds and achieved his first Instructor Certification. David also participated in numerous training seminars from Combative and Weapon Defenses, NRA tactical shooting, Edged Weapons and Car Jacking. In November 2012, David achieved his Level One Instructor Certification under Sam Sade & Jamie Arute for Alpha Krav Maga International. David continues his training and instructing at Alpha Krav Maga Northeast Regional Training Center in Cheshire. David currently works as a Public Safety Officer for Quinnipiac University in Hamden Connecticut. In April 2013, he earned his Level 2 Instructor Certification from Alpha Krav Maga International.
