Creative Statement

I believe you should live each day as if it is your last, which is why I don't have any clean laundry because, come on, who wants to do laundry on the last day of their life?

I'm a a SAHM to two girly-girls, Ainsleigh Jayne (Red), and Bronwyn Annabel (Bee), dog mom to two "flying monkeys", and wife to my best friend and arch-nemesis on occasion, Jack.

Born in Southern California, raised in Misery, and gave my heart to Chicago before moving back to Misery. I can't wait to get the hell out of Misery once again.

Sorry, Misery fans, I guess there just isn't enough diversity in the suburbs for this "tree-hugging", peace-loving, independent girl. Not to mention, I actually like using public transportation and being able to get a kick-ass burrito at 3 a.m. AND, I find myself saying WTF way too often! Okay, okay, I may not NEED the burrito and finding me up past ten these days is a rarity, but the burrito is there if I want it, ya know what I mean? I guess maybe I wouldn't mind having to drive every place if a) gas was less than $20/gallon--I honestly never even knew what it cost when I lived in the Second City; and b) people in Misery CAN NOT drive. Did anyone ever tell these people that the left lane was for FAST moving vehicles and not parking and that merge means KEEP MOVING?

Beyond all that, I'm just a mom trying to figure out how to leave the Earth in better shape than it is now for Red, Bee, and their friends. I don't knock the way anyone else raises their kids, so I'd appreciate it if people don't knock the way I raise mine.

My biggest regret in life is not doing some time in the Peace Corps when I was younger. One of these days, I'd love to take my children to a place where people have nothing and show them how fortunate we are and how the other half really does live.
